This is an exciting time with the founding of Access Ready Inc. This national cross-disability advocacy organization is dedicated to promoting a policy of accessible information and communications technology. This is coming about at a time when inaccessible technology is spreading by leaps and bounds leaving behind people with disabilities. It is spreading without the apparent care or concern of those charged with protecting the rights of people with disabilities. In point of fact, quite the reverse is taking place as the President, Congress and civil rights officials at the Department of Justice turn away from inclusion toward the exclusion of people with disabilities across the information and communications technology universe.
Access Ready Inc. has been founded as a nonprofit with a pending 501(C)3 application status to stop this trend through moral, legal and public pressure. Much has been accomplished with the help of a few like-minded friends organizations and companies, but there is still much to be done.
Every nonprofit has those few supporters who come together for a common purpose to contribute their resources, talents and time. This is your opportunity to join the thoughtful group who have combined as the Founders of Access Ready.
The Founders will all have their names, pictures, and brands prominently and permanently displayed, if they wish, on the Access Ready website in a lasting legacy to their support.
We all know that accessible information and communications technology is the pathway to a future of inclusion in our fast-paced technological society. Without accessibility as a policy, people with disabilities will be left behind and offered the scraps that afterthoughts and accommodations usually bring.
